About me…in case you don’t already know me :)

Hi!  Olive Branch Creations started with me always wanting to learn silversmithing!  I really love putting things together.  The act of making and creating something lovely out of basic not too exciting parts has always been intertwined in me.  You name it I have probably tried it…soaps, oils, beading, pine needle weaving, painting, gardening just to name a few.  The idea of using a torch on metals was exciting and kind of scary at the same time, so out of fear I put off trying it!  I’m so glad I finally took that leap!  It has been a super fun journey!!  

My husband Andrew (or Drew as I prefer to call him) has to be the most patient supporting man out there!  As I started down this road, I think he thought…oh here she goes again!  As I continued to work and create, he oooh'd and ahhh'd over each piece I made and encouraged me over each piece I melted. One day he finally said are you going to sell some of this stuff? I really don’t know what I had in mind when I started…but sales where not it!   He said he had a great name for a business (Olive was my sweet Momma’s name)  and here we are today! :)

I love combining metals…brass, bronze, copper and silver are all so beautiful alone, but mixed together I feel you have the best of both worlds!  Minerals and stones have been a love of mine since I was a kid!  My great granddad used to collect and polish stones in New Mexico.  You know a real “rockhound” when someone just licks the dull rock to see it’s “real” colors.  I have so many favorites!  My absolute favorite two are Fire Agate and Larimar…fire and water.  Those two sum me up!  

I have no idea where this path will take me.  I try not to plan too far down the road.  In the meantime I’ll keep doing what I’m doing.  I do know that I am loving every minute of it and I hope I can share it with you as well:)
